► (1628-1703) Escritor y poeta francés. En 1697 publicó la obra Historias o cuentos de antaño con moraleja, con este otro título en su tomo: Cuentos de mi madre la Oye (la Oca). Incluye narraciones muy populares, como Barba azul, La bella durmiente del bosque , Blancanieves, Caperucita roja y La Cenicienta, entre otros.

Poeta, prosista y narrador francés. Perrault se hizo conocido como literato 1660 gracias a sus versos ligeros y a su poesía amorosa. Se le recuerda principalmente por los encantadores cuentos de hadas que escribió para entretener a sus hijos y que tituló Cuentos de mamá Oca (1697; ver Mamá Gansa). Pasó el resto de su vida promoviendo el estudio de la literatura y las artes. Fue un miembro importante de la Academia Francesa. Participó en una famosa polémica con Nicolas Boileau acerca de los méritos relativos de la literatura antigua y moderna; su defensa de lo moderno constituye un hito de gran importancia en la rebelión contra las restricciones de la tradición imperante.
